So much for prediction...
Sehwag's "maravetti" shot kind of gave a hint as to how serious the rest of the team would be about the match. Ideally, a good cricket fan would want a good team to win and India didn't deserve to win the match yesterday and Ireland didn't deserve to lose. Since Ind-Bang match was a no-brainer, I got to watch Ireland-Pakistan match. The luck factor played no role. Thank God the rains stopped and the Irish were able to continue the game. A win by D/L method wouldn't have done justice. And people would say "Its because of the rains....". Go Ireland! It'd be interesting to see how Ireland play the rest of their matches. And India? Well, they have crazy fans to contend with. Would we deliver once again in a do-or-die situation?

Actually the prediction is working out right - only thing ws that a wrong conclusion was arrived at. Keeping all other things constant, the Indian team was an improbable winner in 1983. Similarly Bangladesh too is/was an improbable winner of the cup this year. In the opening league match India beat WI, a team with a great batting line-up. Similarly BD beat, India, one of the best batting line-ups in the world. So if we were to predict that this year an improbable team would win the WC, then both BD and Ireland qualify.
All said and done, it was a fantastic performance by Bangladesh.
Deepa,
Was there some prediction that it would leave a coach dead? Bob Woolmer is dead :(
Now India will come back strong.... I guess its become like WWF where the winners are fixed initially... Its a drama I guess... Ireland was real treat to watch :)
SK, it was nice to see B'desh perform as you said. But wish they hadn't done it against us.
AP, yeah saw that. Poor guy. Dawn is already filled with news about how he is one of "them" as he actually died after a poor performance.
KK, fixing a? I dont think our team would like to be paid to lose a match against B'desh. They know what would happen to their homes.:-)
