K(r)aapi with Karan
I recently discovered that Koffee with Karan is being aired on one of the channels during weekends over here. I couldn't wait. Isn't Karan a unique character - an out-of-the-closet guy (I mean gay) from our land? I watched one episode. It was so superficial that I couldn't get enough of it. Last weekend, got to watch so many interviews thanks to youtube. The conversation is only in english. And most of the time one's body, one's sex-appeal or one's crush, love, ex-love is whats discussed. If the producers ask Karan not to use the word "sex" or "sexy", he'd probably resign. I don't think he is capable of talking in english without using those words. The star guests are very forthright or frank or open. Thats why Preity Zinta talked about "grabbing" Abhishek's butt. Even the King Khan and KJ gave subtle hints about their "relationship". And Abhishek said Mallika Sherawat represents Indian women of 2005 and that he'd like to see her run in slow motion.
Unfortunate are those who never got to watch this show. The guy who directed 3 movies (one of them was a flop) is actually a guy the stars suck upto. Everytime he has guests, those guests fight over the coffee hamper that K hands out. I am pretty sure those people might toss it the second they get out of the set. But they are magnanimous enough to provide us entertainment with such funny tiffs and competition peppered with humour that I promise I would "do anything" to watch this show.
PS - The "do anything" was pun intended. You'd undertsnad if you watch this clip.
Update - The post reflects what I feel about the show but that doesn't mean I wouldn't watch it. I love the entertainment. Go KJ! (OMG, Am I inadvertently sucking up to him now?:-))

I have seen few episodes of Season 1 on TV and the 2nd Season on Youtube...

The celebrities who are called are his so-called best friends - SRK, Kajol, Rani, blah blah...Its so damn boring!
Check out Coffee with Anu on Youtube...Its much better than KJs show. I liked the one with Sivamani and Mandolin Srinivas.
Hey yeah..thats true…I was saying the same thing to my sister that kj’d resign if he is not allowed to use those words.
A 'moral man' is a frightened man- chicken hearted man; that is why he practices morality and sits in judgment over others.The human organism is not interested in Karan's wonderful ideas--peace, bliss, beatitude or any such thing. Its only interest is survival.

I totally agree with you that KJ is Gay.... I have watched prolly one episode where rani and Kareena come.... Rani was more masculine than this guy while talking :)
And yeah the fight for the coffee hamper.... so artificial...

deepa, watched it for the 1st time here. its oozing with artificial stuff! and watched anu's episodes thru utube. BIG diff is the "artificiality" is thankfully missing and i thnk that's why a lot of ppl prefer anu's.

Yes. I don't know if Mirchi Suchi's full name is 'Suchitra Krishnamurthy'. But I believe she did a few episodes with Singers Karthik and Srinivas and also Nadhia and the lot.
But after about 4 shows, she disappeared with the show and it continued to be 'Coffee with Anu' from 'Koffee with Suchi'.

Mirchi Suchi's official name is also Suchitra Krishnamurthy(the same as Shekar Kapur's wife). I remember her doing the Coffee with Suchi and then Anu Haasan is doing it...Mirchi Suchi sings for films these days - her latest one is "Dolu Dolu dhaan" from Pokkiri...She has a Vasundara Das kinda voice...
forget about karan johar. Look at preity zinta. I cannot believe she was a liril girl.... not only is she not cute anymore... she looks like an aunty!

did u get to watch Anubhavam with Gowthami. At the end of the show, she takes an handprint of the guest. She is planning to create a Kollywood Wall of Fame. First was Kamal and then it was Simbhu.
