TV lingo

Got to watch some tamil TV channels on the internet during the weekend. The bad tamil is no surprise. But I am trying to figure out which one is more annoying. Someone saying "Neenga idha buy pannina nalla sleep varum" or someone saying "We predicted ki this would happen" (heard somewhere in the context of Ash-Abhi hook-up).

I am maore comfortable with 'Kollangal' "Selvi" Tamil than the pure Paridhimaarkalaingar' Tamil.

Your post reminds me of a scene in "Thenali" where kamal hasan teases the gal who interviews him from "Raj TV" saying she was speaking tamil very well before the camera was turned on and speaks funny in front of the camera :)) -- may be that is the fashion these days!

Its irrelevant to your post, but considering you enjoy music by MS, I'm giving you a bit of Trivia.
MS was trained to sing Mira Bhajans for the movie Mira (where she played the role of Mira) by Sri Dilip Kumar Roy, who was a noted musician of his time. Sri Dilip Kumar was also the closest Disciple of Sri Aurobindo and a devotee of thakur Sri Ramakrishna.
A website dedicated to Sri Dilip Kumar Roy (which will have audio files of his music soon) has been recently launched.
You can access it here:

In a way I prefer the Major (bejaar) Sounderrajan style. He used to speak an entire sentence in Englis and then translate it immediately in Tamil or vice versa.
Example:
Stop it. Niruthunga.
sabaash, well done
badava rascal
I cannot believe it. Ennala namba mudiyala.

nenga partha vudane kovam vara madiri oru girl sun music la programe panra. she didn't know how to talk either in tamil or in english or in mixed. its quite horrible. She stand like a doll (with 5 inches make-up) with another prgm host guy. Im surprised how the producer selected her as a vj? ( i think for her face only???!!!) eppadi lam vj's irukanga aduku edhayellam nama adjust panikalamnu thonuthu. But any way these type of things should be avoided.

VC, seriyana kelvi. Thats true.
TTM, Namitha has only visual-value and not aural-value. You should know what to expect.;-)
Syam, first it seemed like syle, then it seemed funny and now they seem annoying. What say you?
Oracle, I wish I could add a laughing track for your comment.:-)
I, loose a nee? Where exactly did you spot my thamizh "dhrogam"?
yuva, I cant disagree with you but that doesnt prevent you from getting annoyed when you hear them, right?
Mahadevan Sir, the selvi tamil is the normal tamil one hears on a daily basis. The anchor-tamil is the abnormal version.
Anon, I could swear I was thinking of that while watchin the program.
madsies, welcome.
KK, nattamai, theerpa maatthi sollu.;-)
AP, trend o ennavo, namma tamil apdi aayidumo nu bayamma irukku.
ginks, purinja seri.;-) The jury is out on whether its wrong or right but its annoying for sure.
Lavu, again, naan thappu nu mention pannala. Annoying nu sonnen.
Ajay and Rajesh, join the gang. uite often I remember major for that syle of talking. And I even do them deliberately.:-)
Anon, andha male VJ Ananda Kannan a or that skinny guy who talks like a girl?
