World Cup Prediction

World Cup has started and West Indies, Australia and kenya have won their matches. 2 more days to go for India's first match and there are creative forwards already doing the rounds. Predicting the winner is the in-thing to do now. I got the following as a forward.

Year 1981
1. Prince Charles got married
2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes
4. Pope Died
2 years later India won the world Cup!!!

Year 2005
1. Prince Charles got married
2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes
4. Pope Died

2 years later will India win the world Cup???? .........

Trivia -2

1982 Football World Cup won by Italy

1983 Cricket World Cup won by India

2006 Football World Cup won by Italy

2007 Cricket World Cup: INDIA ???

The 1981-2005 thingy is pretty good, if fully true.
Also: The last time India won the World Cup, it prevented another team from winning 3 successive World Cups. This time also???

I couldnt find any any pope who died in 1981. Pope Paul VI and John Paul I died in 1978 and John Paul II in 2005. Does the pope who died in 1981 have a name??

But still very interesting :)

Amzing how someone could think of linking these events... :)

What a painstaking effort! The preponderence of probability is in India's favour. Can we add one or two more? In 1983, we defeated West Indies led by their greatest Batsman. Perhaps, in 2007 too we would defeat West Indies, to be led by their greatest batsman of the era. In 1983, Mohinder Amarnath, known for his batting prowess, was the Man of the match both in the Semi finals and final, for his bowling. In 2007, Yuvaraj Singh, again known for his batting prowess, may become the man of the match by bagging a few wickets. He has already shown the lead by taking 4 wickets.

Amazing!
WI was on a hat-trick, Now Aussies are. A year before the cup Gavaskar was stripped off his captaincy - Ganguly was too.
What ever brings home the cup. Even if it means that the PM will be assasinated next year. Just kidding. I love MMS.

That true rads. Its this optimism thats generating so many sponsors, I would say.
KK, unga pangu ku, you can also discover some coincidences like 83 was an odd number and so is '07.
SK, I went to that blog thru thennavan's long time ago. whattonameit right?
Ajay, today is sunday and you say.....?
Ginks, yaara paatthu oldman sonna?Oooiii...
Ace, thats true. Definitely amazing.
Mahadevan Sir, I've not seen anyone who reposes so much faith in Yuvraj as a bowler. I hope he lives upto your expectations.
Anon Deepa, over-use pannina the effect would be nullified. With power comes responsibility...;-)
MT, Nostradamus, Linda Goodman, Ma Prem ellam ippo help panna maattaanga.
Me, LOL. Thats funny.
I, andha FWD kum indha prediction kum enna sammandham?
Rajesh, thats interesting. But why do you hate Manmohan?
Rajesh, AP and Oracle, lets wait for the effigies to burn all over India (except Kolkatta) and then our team's performance would improve if we go by last world cup.
