Indian cricket team wins the 20-20 World Cup. The Big 3 - Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly weren't part of the team. The only chance of ever holding a cup thats anywhere close to the actual world cup just passed by. You are good err.. great, the 3 of you, just not "lucky".

No, that isn't the reason. Not including these 3 was part of the match fixing deal.

I second karthik sriram's comment - India won because those old men weren't there to bungle with their experience, in particular one ex-boy wonder who's now a pain in the lower part of our anatomy, merely because of his presence. I can't really understand why some people don't prefer to quit when there's still some dignity left. Like Gavaskar once said, sportsmen should quit when people still ask, "Why?" instead of "why not?"

I too go along with the match-fixing theory. It looked so obvious - what would happen to Ponting's (Aussies) endorsements if Indians lost their interest in cricket?
